1. Always to back into parking spaces.
2. Remember to make sure the lane is clear whenever making a left or right turn. 
3. Check for obstructed views when exiting garage or closed area.
4. Verify the car ahead has actually proceeded when watching left (to turn right).
5. Limit distractions (cell phones, cigarette lighters, car stereo, etc.)
6. Give yourself more than enough time to reach your destination especially when driving in the city as it is much more time consuming than rural driving.
7. Leave space all around your vehicle for yourself and other drivers whether at stop lights or when driving.
8. Circle Check your vehicle – walk around it and look for obstacles, obstructions and damage before leaving.
9. Scan intersections prior to driving through them.
10. Do not stare at problems.
11. Avoid driving in others’ blind spots and keep yours clear as best you can.
12. Avoid backing. The rear blind spot is much larger than side or front blind spots.
